Lowry prepares for emotional returns of DeRozan, Casey to Toronto

As the Toronto Raptors prepare for a Nov. 14 visit from former head coach Dwane Casey and his Detroit Pistons, some players are forced to confront the emotions caused by the team's offseason moves.

"I still haven't reflected," Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears about the team's two major offseason moves. "I'm not looking forward to seeing coach next week. It's weird."

The other major change Lowry has had to adjust to is the departure of the franchise's all-time leading scorer, DeMar DeRozan, who will square off against the Raptors as a member of the San Antonio Spurs for the first time on Jan. 3.

"Then seeing DeMar is going to be different. It's going to be weird. And I'm sure they are going to show a video tribute, and I might get emotional. I won't cry. I won't do that," Lowry said. "We have always talked about it by saying that we're going to reflect on our careers when we are done and sitting on our porches chilling sipping on some lemonade."

Lowry also has a clear message for Raptors fans on how to react to Casey's return on Nov. 14, and then DeRozan's lone trip north of the border on Feb. 22.

"Standing ovation," he said. "They have done a lot for the city and the organization. Welcome them with open arms, which I’m sure Toronto fans will do. I have no doubt about that."
