Report: Spurs' Murray underwent surgery to repair torn ACL
San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray underwent successful surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee, according to sources of The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Murray suffered the injury in a preseason contest against the Houston Rockets on Oct. 7 and could potentially sit out the entire season.
San Antonio considers Murray the point guard of the future after longtime Spur Tony Parker parted ways with the franchise, signing a two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets.
Murray made the NBA's All-Defensive second team last year and was the focal point of the Spurs' fourth-ranked defense.
With Murray out and backup Derrick White expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with a heel injury, the Spurs turned to Bryn Forbes as their starting point guard in their 112-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
