Report: Cavaliers testing trade market for Korver
Kyle Korver's tenure in Cleveland may soon be coming to an end.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly looking to trade the veteran sharpshooter and have begun testing the market in the past several days, league sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Cavaliers reportedly shopped the gunslinger over the summer and are now working their way back to those talks to gauge interest.
Korver was taken out of the rotation by head coach Tyronn Lue after two games in order to give more playing time to the Cavs' young talent. That decision was quickly reversed, though, and Lue was eventually relieved of his duties as the team's losing skid continued.
Korver saw the floor for 15 minutes Tuesday night in a 136-114 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Quicken Loans Arena. He finished with three points and three rebounds, converting 1-of-5 from the field while missing all four of his 3-point attempts.
The 37-year-old is owed $7.56 million this season, and another $7.5 million in 2019-20.
Across 22 appearances en route to Cleveland's fourth-straight Finals appearance, Korver knocked down two 3-pointers per playoff game at a 41.3 percent clip. Contending teams looking for an extra outside presence in their rotation would be wise to inquire, as Korver can still provide value with his elite shooting stroke if given the opportunity.
