With Kevin Durant and Draymond Green back on the floor together for the first time since Monday's postgame blowup, the Golden State Warriors were promptly hammered 107-86 Thursday by the Houston Rockets.
While head coach Steve Kerr admitted afterward that the Warriors are banged up physically and "spiritually," there wasn't much concern on Green's part.
"We're still the best team in the league, and we're still going to win more games, a bunch of games, and go win another championship, and we'll be fine," Green said, per The Athletic's Anthony Slater.
The Warriors suspended Green for Tuesday's win over the Atlanta Hawks, hours after he engaged in a shouting match with teammate Durant following a tight loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Green said earlier Thursday that the issue was patched up and added after the loss that he'll take responsibility for being a distraction.
"We didn't play our best game. It happens," he said. "If those emotions are what caused us to lose, then it's my bad."
Durant, meanwhile, refused to answer any more questions about the spat.
The Warriors remain without Stephen Curry at least through the remainder of their current road trip. Golden State struggled against a rejuvenated Houston defense, with Green being held scoreless.
