Irving apologizes for saying 'F--- Thanksgiving'
Warning: Story contains coarse language
Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving apologized for a derogatory comment he made following a 117-109 home loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
Irving was leaving the dressing room when someone wished him a happy Thanksgiving, according to The Athletic's Jay King. Irving replied to say he doesn't celebrate the holiday, and then added, "F--- Thanksgiving."
Meant no disrespect to the Holiday and those who celebrate it respectfully. I’m grateful for the time We all can share with our families. We are always ONE. 🔺👁

Irving later told NBC Sports' Abby Chin that he doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving due to his Native American heritage, according to MassLive's Tom Westerholm. The five-time All-Star was honored by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe last summer as a nod to his mother's background.
The Celtics have lost three straight games and sit at 9-9 on the season.
