Kyrie only wants to play until his early-to-mid 30s

With the way Kyrie Irving was talking on Friday, it's possible his next NBA contract could be his last.

When reporters asked if he envisions playing as long as Vince Carter, Irving scoffed. "No, no," he said, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps. "Once I'm done with this, hopefully in my early-to-mid 30s, I'm done with this."

Irving, who turns 27 in March, can opt out of his current contract next summer and sign a five-year deal worth about $188 million with the Boston Celtics. He's already said he plans to stay in Beantown, and that theoretical contract would expire when Irving is 32.

Going into Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, Irving has 458 games on his NBA odometer.
