Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul exited Thursday's game against the Miami Heat with a strained left hamstring, and the early outlook isn't promising.

"It'll be some time," said Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni following his team's narrow 101-99 loss at American Airlines Arena, according to the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds.

The nine-time All-Star is set to undergo an MRI on Friday. He left with 6:43 remaining in the second quarter, clutching the back of his leg after Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. stole the ball from him.

Paul finished with four points, four assists, and two turnovers in 12 minutes of action as Houston's five-game winning streak was snapped.

The Rockets are 0-5 this season when CP3 doesn't suit up, and were 15-9 last season.

The 33-year-old floor general suffered a right hamstring issue in Game 5 of the 2017-18 Western Conference finals that forced him to watch Games 6 and 7 from the sidelines in as the Golden State Warriors overcame a 3-2 series deficit.
