Report: Lakers' McGee released from hospital after bout of pneumonia
Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee was released from hospital Saturday after a three-day stay due to pneumonia, sources told Yahoo's Chris Haynes.
McGee was reportedly monitored and tended to by the Lakers' team doctor during the hospital stay. The big man confirmed the illness but not the severity.
"I feel a little better," McGee told Haynes. "Surprisingly, I didn't lose any weight."
The 7-footer has missed his team's last three games and was ruled out for Sunday's contest due to a "respiratory infection," according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. He's expected to be considered day to day for the immediate future.
McGee is having one of his most efficient seasons, shooting 63 percent from the field while blocking a career-high 2.6 shots per game.
