Report: Lakers offers not worth countering for Pelicans
The Los Angeles Lakers' offers for Anthony Davis have not been worth countering for the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Lakers have offered two members of their young core - including Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac - along with Rajon Rondo or Lance Stephenson, according to Charania. They have not, however, included Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
A source described the Lakers' offer as a "lowball" and that L.A. has yet to place all of their assets on the table, Charania added,
The first offer submitted by the Lakers included Ball, Kuzma, Rondo, Michael Beasley, and a first-round pick, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
In addition to the considerably weak proposals, the Lakers have yet to offer multiple first-round picks or salary cap relief in a deal, according to Wojnarowski.
Joining LeBron James and the Lakers reportedly remains Davis' ideal landing spot for an opportunity to compete for a championship after reaching the postseason just twice in his first six seasons in New Orleans.
