LeBron addresses call from Kyrie: 'We're in a good place'
More than two weeks after Kyrie Irving said he'd reached out to apologize to former teammate LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers star has finally revealed what he took away from the phone call.
"Yeah, we're in a good place right now," James told The Athletic's Joe Vardon Saturday night. "Me and Kyrie are in a good place right now. I love the man that he's becoming, I love the challenges he's accepted and I always wish the best for him."
And that's all James would say without going into specifics.
"We talked and it was a great conversation," he added. "He told y'all what he said."
After playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014-17, Irving orchestrated his exit from the team, landing with the Boston Celtics via trade and ending a short-lived working relationship with James that produced one title and three Finals appearances in as many years. James departed Cleveland the following summer, taking his talents to Los Angeles.
