The Dallas Mavericks and forward Zach Randolph are expected to agree on a buyout after the veteran joined the team via trade on Wednesday, according to The New York Times' Marc Stein.

The Mavericks acquired Randolph and forward Justin Jackson from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Harrison Barnes.

The 37-year-old Randolph never played for the Kings this season, as they prioritized developing their young frontcourt. He's in the final season of a contract that's worth $11.7 million for 2018-19.

Randolph appeared in 59 games last season, averaging 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.
