LeBron James is a big fan of hip-hop and recently got the opportunity to channel his love of the genre into a new role as the A&R (artists and repertoire) on 2 Chainz's latest album, "Rap or Go to the League."
As the Los Angeles Lakers star explained in a recent interview with Lisa Robinson of Vanity Fair, it was an easy decision to work with 2 Chainz on the project.
"Anything I do has to be organic to me, and I wouldn't be who I am today without music," he said. "My love for music, my love for hip-hop music ... what it does for me in my training, what it's done for me in my life ... There are days I've gotten through because of music - great artists who've been able to use their penmanship to get me through days. So this was just organic to me."
Despite his musical passion, James doesn't envision himself owning a record label in the future.
"No, I don't think so. I've heard the music business is very, very difficult," he said. "But who knows what my kids might want to do someday?"
