Report: Mirotic out 2-4 weeks with thumb injury
Milwaukee Bucks forward Nikola Mirotic had an X-ray on his left thumb that revealed a sprain and fracture, the team announced Wednesday.
The 6-foot-10 big man is expected to miss two-to-four weeks, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Mirotic has missed several games this season due to multiple setbacks, including a 12-game absence with an ankle injury and an 11-game sideline stint because of a calf strain.
The 28-year-old's latest injury will likely force the Bucks to reinsert D.J. Wilson as the reserve power forward and increase their reliance on veteran sharpshooter Ersan Ilyasova.
Milwaukee acquired Mirotic from the New Orleans Pelicans in a three-team deal ahead of the trade deadline. He's averaging 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 14 appearances since the trade.
