Murray State star Ja Morant officially declared for the NBA draft during a press conference Wednesday.

The explosive sophomore became just the second player in Division I history to average a double-double with points (24.5) and assists (10). Avery Johnson was the lone player on the list when he averaged 11.4 points and 13.3 assists in 1987-88.

Morant is projected to go in the top three of June's draft behind Duke's Zion Williamson. He was viewed as just a potential lottery pick before leading the Racers to one of their best finishes in school history.

The 6-foot-3 guard guided Murray State to an NCAA Tournament appearance, knocking off No. 5 seed Marquette in Round 1. Morant became just the ninth player to record a triple-double in the Big Dance since 1983.
