Report: Suns shut down Booker for final 3 games after injuring ankle
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be shut down for the remaining three games of the season after exiting Wednesday's contest against the Utah Jazz in the first quarter with a sprained left ankle, a source told ESPN's Jordan Schultz.
The 22-year-old jumped to receive a high pass from teammate Josh Jackson and rolled his ankle after coming down on the foot of Jazz forward Royce O'Neale, who was whistled for a foul.
Booker was unable to shoot the free throws, ruling him out for the remainder of the game. He was eventually helped off the floor and taken back to the locker room, finishing with eight points and an assist on 3-of-4 shooting in eight minutes.
X-rays reportedly came back negative, league sources told the Athletic's Shams Charania.
Booker is averaging 26.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists across 63 appearances for the 18-60 Suns. He had scored 48 or more points in three of his last four outings entering Wednesday, including a 59-point performance against the Jazz on March 25.
