Durant drops 38 points in 1st half vs. Clippers
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant had a half for the record books, torching the Los Angeles Clippers for 38 points to give his team a 72-53 halftime lead in Game 6.
Durant shot 12-of-17 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line in 23 minutes of action, tying Charles Barkley for the second-most points scored in a half of a postseason game, according to the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds.
Sleepy Floyd, then also with the Warriors, holds the all-time record with 39 points in one half of a playoff game, achieving the feat in 1987. Michael Jordan holds with record for most points in an entire postseason contest with 63, doing so against the Boston Celtics in 1986.
Durant entered the third quarter just 13 points shy of his season high of 51 points and 16 away from his career high of 54 set in 2014.
He finished Golden State's 129-110 victory with a playoff career-high 50 points.
