Knicks given 16-1 odds to win 2020 NBA title
Las Vegas seems to be predicting a big summer for the New York Knicks.
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened its 2020 NBA title betting on Saturday, and the fifth-best odds belong to the long-suffering Knickerbockers at 16-1, tied with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Both teams have been widely speculated as potential free-agent destinations this summer for top players, with Kevin Durant linked to the Knicks, and names like Kawhi Leonard connected to the Clippers.
A significant roster overhaul would be needed for New York to contend. The team won 17 games this season, missing the playoffs for the sixth straight year.
In addition to the club's approximately $75 million in salary cap space this summer, the Knicks hold a 14 percent chance of winning the draft lottery and the right to select consensus No. 1 pick Zion Williamson.
The Golden State Warriors remain atop Westgate's 2020 odds at 7-4, even with reports circulating about Durant leaving. LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers are tied for sixth at 20-1.
