Kyle Korver outlasts copy machine he was sold for in 2003

Score one for Kyle Korver.

After selecting Korver with the 51st pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, the then-New Jersey Nets immediately traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers for $125,000. The Nets then used some of that money to purchase a new copy machine.

Korver provided an update on the copier while delivering a commencement speech at his alma mater Creighton University on Saturday, revealing it no longer works.

"I'm not sure 'trade' is the right word. I was more or less sold for an undisclosed amount of money," the 38-year-old sharpshooter said. "I later found out they used that money to pay for the entry fee for the summer-league team and with the leftover money, they bought a copy machine. What's your trade value? Apparently, mine is a copy machine.

"But it's OK because a couple of years ago that copy machine broke and I'm still playing."

Korver is mulling retirement after 16 seasons, telling reporters in April that he'll confer with his family before announcing his decision.
