With the No. 46 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic selected Iowa State forward Talen Horton-Tucker. The pick will reportedly be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Horton-Tucker landed with the Cyclones after helping Chicago high school powerhouse Simeon win three straight city championships. The 18-year-old stood out in his freshman season in college thanks largely to his unorthodox frame.
Built like a fullback, Horton-Tucker possesses a 7-foot-1 wingspan and 8-foot-7 standing reach. His 9.5-inch hand length was the seventh-longest at the combine - larger than most centers at the event.

College Experience: Freshman
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 235 lbs
Wingspan: 7-foot-1

Strengths
- Impressive length allowed him to guard across four positions with ease in college, while bulk permits him to body bigger forwards.
- Utilizes long arms as a rebounder, averaging 7.1 boards per 40 minutes.
- High motor with a playground-like style. Can handle the ball like a point guard when he must, can flip passes and get to the basket; good finisher through contact.
Weaknesses
- Perimeter shooting needs work. Shot under 31 percent from deep in his lone college season.
- Subpar free-throw shooter; hit just 62.5 percent of his foul shots - not ideal for a player expected to draw contact.
