Report: Durant's absence causing 'confusion, angst' among Warriors

Kevin Durant hasn't played a game since May 8, and with his Golden State Warriors on the ropes against the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals, hope still exists he will return to action Monday.

However, Durant's absence due to a right calf strain has caused "a mixture of confusion and angst" among several of his teammates, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick, who adds that "irritation grew in large part" when Durant didn't play in Game 4.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr first provided hope last week Durant would play Friday. However, he later said he hadn't progressed enough to scrimmage. Kerr did say there's a "good chance" he could play in Game 5 or 6, although the latter won't happen unless Golden State can win Monday.

The Warriors' trainers are making the call on whether Durant can return to action or not, according to Amick.
