Randle, Knicks agree to 3-year, $63M contract

It's not Kevin Durant, but the New York Knicks have landed a quality free agent.

Julius Randle and the team have agreed to a three-year, $63-million contract, his agents told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The final year is a team option, sources told Yahoo's Chris Haynes.

The news comes shortly after a report indicated that Knicks owner James Dolan refused to offer Durant a max contract when free agency began earlier Sunday. Durant has subsequently signed with the crosstown Brooklyn Nets.

Randle had a career year in his lone season with the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 21.4 points on 34.4 percent 3-point shooting. The 24-year-old is set to pair in the frontcourt with sophomore Kevin Knox, with this year's No. 3 overall pick RJ Barrett featuring on the wing.
