Knicks, Ellington agree to 2-year, $16M contract

Free-agent guard Wayne Ellington and the New York Knicks agreed to a two-year, $16-millon contract, the player's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

It constitutes a raise for the veteran, who made $6.2 million last season with the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons. Ellington is a career 38-percent 3-point shooter over 10 NBA seasons.

His addition gives the Knicks some backcourt depth one day after they reportedly added three power forwards - Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, and Bobby Portis - in free agency.
