Report: Cousins changes agents amid free agency
Unrestricted free agent DeMarcus Cousins has changed his representation to Excel Sports' Jeff Schwartz as he seeks a contract on the open market, sources told the New York Times' Marc Stein.
Cousins had been represented by Jarinn Akana, who previously worked with late NBA agent Dan Fegan.
Despite being the second-biggest name left in this summer's free-agent class, Cousins doesn't appear to be drawing a lot of interest. It was reported Wednesday that the Dallas Mavericks won't pursue the four-time All-Star, which came after ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski stated Monday that there is no market for the big man.
Cousins played the 2018-19 season for the Golden State Warriors on the $5.3-million taxpayer mid-level exception. He was limited to 30 games after a one-year layoff due to a ruptured Achilles.
