Report: Mavericks expected to give Wright offer sheet
The Dallas Mavericks are expected to present restricted free agent Delon Wright with an offer sheet, sources told Dallas Morning News' Brad Townsend.
The Memphis Grizzlies currently own the rights to the 6-foot-5 combo guard and are expected to match any reasonable offer he agrees to, sources told ESPN's Tim MacMahon.
Wright was acquired by the Grizzlies along with C.J. Miles and Jonas Valanciunas from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Marc Gasol.
The 27-year-old has made significant strides on offense despite having an inconsistent perimeter jumper. Wright can be plugged in as a big playmaking point guard and would mesh well with either Mavericks star Luka Doncic or Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant as a secondary ball-handler.
Wright averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 26 games with the Grizzlies.
