The Boston Celtics have signed summer league standout Carsen Edwards to a four-year deal worth over $4.5 million guaranteed, sources told the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach.
Edwards slipped to the second round of the 2019 draft before being selected at No. 33 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was quickly moved to the Celtics, giving Beantown a reserve point guard to play behind newly signed Kemba Walker.
The 6-foot star was a dominant scorer during his junior season at Purdue, averaging 24.3 points in 36 appearances for the Boilermakers before declaring for the draft. He's continued his terrific play through four summer league contests, averaging 18 points and shooting 52 percent from the field thus far.
