Wizards owner: Wall probably won't play at all in 2019-20

Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said Monday that star point guard John Wall "probably won't play" at all in 2019-20, according to NBC Sports' Chase Hughes.

Wall sitting out the entire season has been a distinct possibility since he ruptured his left Achilles tendon after a fall in his home in February. He said in April he was unsure if he'd see action in 2019-20.

The Achilles injury came as Wall was rehabilitating from January surgery on his left heel. He last played a game on Dec. 26, meaning that if he sits out the entire season, he will be nearing a two-year layoff if he's ready for 2020-21.

On the court or not, Wall will earn $41.2 million this coming season thanks to the super-max extension he signed in 2017. The Wizards are currently also trying to sign backcourt mate Bradley Beal to a three-year max extension.
