Clippers sign veteran forward Patterson

Veteran power forward Patrick Patterson has signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, the team announced on Thursday.

Patterson will make $2.3 million over one year, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 30-year-old spent his previous two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in just under 15 minutes per game. The team bought out the final season of the three-year, $16-million deal that Patterson signed in 2017, allowing him to hit free agency.

Patterson will join a Clippers big man rotation that boasts holdovers Montrezl Harrell, Ivica Zubac, JaMychal Green, and Johnathan Motley. L.A. also added Florida State big man Mfiondu Kabengele with the No. 27 overall pick of the 2019 draft.

Patterson previously played with L.A.'s presumptive starting point guard, Patrick Beverley, as a member of the Houston Rockets during the 2012-13 season.
