Report: Billups leaving 'NBA Countdown' for Clippers broadcast role

Former NBA All-Star Chauncey Billups is leaving ESPN's "NBA Countdown" to become a game analyst on Los Angeles Clippers broadcasts, sources told the New York Post's Andrew Marchand.

However, the 42-year-old apparently won't be leaving ESPN altogether; Billups will still reportedly contribute to game coverage on network broadcasts - just not its flagship pregame program.

Billups played two seasons with the Clippers toward the end of his on-court career from 2011-13. The 2004 Finals MVP joined the "NBA Countdown" team in 2015.

The studio show is set to undergo a significant overhaul ahead of the 2019-20 season, with host Michelle Beadle reportedly being removed in favor of Rachel Nichols and Maria Taylor.

Paul Pierce, who has been on the program since 2017, reportedly could be departing as well. Fellow ex-players Jay Williams and Richard Jefferson are both considered potential additions for the coming year.
