Shaq shares motivational message for Howard: 'Dig deep'
After taking jabs at Dwight Howard earlier this week, Shaquille O'Neal has changed his tune regarding the new Los Angeles Lakers center.
O'Neal offered some advice for Howard during a Thursday appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show."
"Listen, I wish him well," O'Neal said. "My only advice to him is he needs to dig, dig deep. Really deep. I know he's a big man, he's worked hard, he wants to win a championship, and he can get it done."
O'Neal went on to stress that if Howard remains focused, he and the Lakers can go far.
"In Miami, I was 34, same as Dwight, on my way out," he said. "People thought I was washed up when I left L.A., but I dug deep down. I said, 'You know what? I can do this.' So, if he does everything like he's supposed to do - focus, no joking, no playing - just dig deep down and really, really want it, they could possibly win."
Howard stated in an Instagram live session he's not concerned about what anyone else has to say and that his "focus is on one thing," so it looks like he's already following Shaq's advice.
