Report: Grizzlies refusing to talk buyout with Iguodala, want him in camp
The Memphis Grizzlies are currently refusing to engage in buyout talks with Andre Iguodala and want the veteran to report to training camp, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Grizzlies acquired Iguodala from the Golden State Warriors on June 30 in a salary cap move that, along with the departure of Kevin Durant, ended the run of a major part of Golden State's dynasty core.
In July, it was reported that the Grizzlies would rather seek a trade and recoup assets for the 35-year-old forward than buy him out. Memphis did grant veteran center Dwight Howard a buyout last month, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
While Iguodala has a lost a step over the last few seasons, various title contenders would be candidates to add his leadership and defensive abilities.
