Doc Rivers: Kawhi 'great' in 1st full-contact practice with Clippers
So far, so good for Kawhi Leonard at the Los Angeles Clippers' University of Hawaii-based training camp this week.
"Kawhi practiced today," head coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "He was great."
It marked the two-time Finals MVP's first full-contact practice with the Clippers.
Rivers estimated his new star forward participated in "probably half of the live stuff."
Leonard's recent history with injuries and load management has made his every on-court movement a point of discussion for fans and pundits alike. The Toronto Raptors meticulously managed his workload last season to mitigate injury risk.
He hinted last week that load management wouldn't be as big of a concern this season.
"This time, I'm feeling good," Leonard said Sunday. "I'm feeling way better than I was at the start of last season. There really was no plan laid out to discuss with everyone."
