Trail Blazers waive Pau Gasol
The Portland Trail Blazers waived veteran forward Pau Gasol, the team confirmed Wednesday.
As of today, I will no longer be a member of the @TrailBlazers player roster, so I can focus all my energy on my rehabilitation. πΉπͺπΌ pic.twitter.com/JlXWJ73B23

The Spaniard underwent left foot surgery in May while he was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks and has been unable to successfully rehab the injury, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Trail Blazers are working with Gasol to determine a possible coaching role for him while he continues his rehab in Portland, Wojnarowski adds.
Portland inserted an Exhibit 3 - Prior Injury Exclusion into Gasol's one-year deal for his ailing left ankle and foot, reports ESPN's Bobby Marks.
The Trail Blazers have no imminent plan to sign a player to take Gasol's roster spot, sources told The Athletic's Jason Quick.
Gasol last appeared in an NBA game against the San Antonio Spurs on March 10.
The future Hall of Famer owns career averages of 17 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game and won back-to-back championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 campaigns.
