Jeremy Lin getting Raptors championship ring brought to China
With Kawhi Leonard receiving his championship ring during the Los Angeles Clippers' road game against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 11, some began to wonder when other former members of the 2019 title squad would get their hardware.
Namely, when will Jeremy Lin, currently playing with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association, receive his maiden NBA title ring?
"Funny you ask," Lin wrote during a Q&A on his Instagram account. "I'm actually having it brought to China in a week. Toronto was kind enough to hand-deliver it to my peeps in California. I heard it's fatttt (sic) but I refuse to look at pictures (because) I wanna see it live first."
The 31-year-old struggled to find his shooting form after signing with the Raptors in February and ultimately saw his playing time evaporate during the championship run. He made just one appearance in The Finals against the Golden State Warriors, logging 51 seconds in Toronto's 14-point Game 3 win.
Lin, who is an American of Taiwanese descent, took his talents to China after generating little interest during free agency this summer.
Lin would welcome a return stateside and isn't ruling anything out, but he appears to be savoring his opportunity in Beijing. He leads his team with 24.4 points and six rebounds per contest.
"It all depends," he responded to another question. "At this point, all I can say is I'm open to both (the NBA and CBA) down the road, but really not thinking about it.
"Still at times processing the shock/disappointment of this past summer's free agency, but I've completely embraced the challenge here and legit loving it. I'm in the moment, it's the only way to live. I'll let God lead me when I get to (free agency) next summer!!"
