Redick: More players worry about 'pregame fits on Instagram' than wins

New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard JJ Redick believes some players in the NBA today are more concerned with their image than perfecting their game.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Redick spoke about becoming a mentor for Pelicans rookie Nickeil Alexander-Walker and how he wishes more players would come to him for shooting advice. He went on to explain that while his preparation doesn't change day-to-day, it's not an intuitive thing for a lot of players.

"There's just too much stuff going on. There's too many people in your ear," he said when asked why that is. "There's not enough time in the day probably for some guys. They got Fortnite to go to. They gotta worry about getting a fit off for pregame. This is an issue, I really believe this. There's more guys concerned with getting a pregame fit on Instagram than they are worrying about the win and loss of a basketball game."

Redick deleted all of his social media in 2018 but admitted to making a burner account on Twitter so he could follow free-agency news this past summer.
