Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell is believed to have suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Powell had to be helped off the court after sustaining the injury during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest in the second quarter.

Powell suffered the non-contact injury with three minutes remaining in the first quarter while driving to the hoop. The 28-year-old immediately dropped to the floor and was attended to by the team's medical staff.

The Canadian is averaging 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds along with a 66.2 effective field-goal percentage in 27 minutes per game as the Mavericks' starting center.
