Over 200K fans sign petition to change NBA logo to Kobe
Thousands of basketball fans are petitioning for Kobe Bryant to be made the NBA's new logo in the wake of his death.
As of Monday morning, over 200,000 people signed a Change.org petition asking the NBA to change the logo from a silhouette of Jerry West to one of Bryant.
"With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA logo," the petition reads.
Bryant, 41, died Sunday morning in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.
West told ESPN's "The Jump" in 2017 that while he's flattered to be the logo, he wishes the league would change it.
"If they would want to change it, I wish they would," he said. "In many ways, I wish they would."
