With news Tuesday that multiple NBA players plan on informally retiring their Nos. 8 and 24 in honor of Kobe Bryant, one Los Angeles Laker reportedly has another unique tribute in mind.
Guard Quinn Cook will change his number to 28 to honor Bryant's No. 8 and daughter Gianna's No. 2, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania. Cook has worn No. 2 since joining the Lakers this season.
Gianna Bryant, also known as "Gigi," was on board the helicopter that crashed Sunday in Calabasas, California. The 13-year-old was on her way to a game at the Mamba Sports Academy with her father and seven others.
