Derrick Rose's name has been bandied about with the NBA trade deadline less than a week away, but the veteran point guard wants to stay put with the Detroit Pistons.

"It’s up to the front office," Rose told Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.

"(Team vice-chairman) Arn (Tellem) gave me his word that if something were to happen, he will text or call, but I told him that I want to stay here, but it’s not up to me. You already know how that goes."

Reports last month had both the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers possibly interested in his services. The Pistons are open to offers, but want a lottery-level first-round pick in return, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Rose signed a two-year, $15-million contract with the Pistons last summer. The 31-year-old has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts in Detroit, averaging almost 19 points and six assists in 43 games - his best numbers since 2011-12.

The Pistons are currently 17-33, five games out of the final playoff spot in the East, and are 3-7 in their last 10.
