KD says he still uses burner account: 'I just slipped up that one time'

Kevin Durant was caught using burner accounts to defend himself on Twitter in 2017, but that hasn't deterred him from maintaining an undercover presence on social media.

On the latest episode of the "All The Smoke" podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, the Brooklyn Nets star explained why he hasn't stopped using burners.

"I'm still gonna do the burner thing. I'm still gonna do that," Durant said.

Barnes then interjected, saying that if he were Durant, he would respond to people from his own account.

"Certain people, I'mma come back on my regular account," Durant explained. "But if I'm just trying to do my thing, I want to dip in, you know what I mean? I got the burner ... I just slipped up that one time."

Durant also discussed his recent Twitter beef with former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kendrick Perkins, particularly Perkins' comment that "KD lost in the second round without (Russell Westbrook) when I was there."

"I wouldn't say, 'Well, Perk lost in the second round to Memphis.' No, we all did," Durant said. "But don't call out a teammate. Once a teammate, you always a teammate."

Durant said the two haven't spoken since the exchange, though Perkins did reach out to him on Twitter to apologize following the news of Kobe Bryant's death.
