The NBA has renamed the trophy given to the Most Valuable Player in the All-Star Game the "Kobe Bryant MVP Award," league commissioner Adam Silver announced ahead of All-Star Saturday in Chicago.

Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 in Calabasas, California.

Bryant was an 18-time All-Star and won four All-Star MVP awards - 2002, 2007, 2009, and 2011.
