Lillard expects to miss 3-4 games with groin strain
All-Star Damian Lillard thinks he might miss three or four games as he recovers from a right groin strain, according to Portland Trail Blazers beat reporter Casey Holdahl.
The 29-year-old guard was on fire prior to the injury, which caused him to miss All-Star Weekend in Chicago. In his last 12 outings dating back to a 61-point explosion against the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 20, Lillard has averaged 37.9 points, 9.2 assists, and 5.6 rebounds.
Even with his hot streak giving Portland a major lift, the Trail Blazers (25-31) remain four games behind the Memphis Grizzlies (28-26) for the Western Conference's eighth and final playoff berth.
The Trail Blazers are tied with the Toronto Raptors for the league's third-longest active playoff streak, having qualified in six straight years.
