Raptors' Nurse: 'There's a ceiling we can get to yet'

Following a stellar debut performance in the NBA's bubble against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse believes his team can reach another level this season.

"Seriously man, we love to play the games and we like to compete, we know we're tough to beat, we really do, and I think there's a ceiling we can get to yet," Nurse said after the Raptors' 107-92 victory over the Western Conference-leading Lakers, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

Despite earning the league's third-best record at 47-18, the defending-champion Raptors have flown under the radar once again this season while teams like the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks garner most of the spotlight.

Nurse is fine with his club continuing to be overlooked, and would rather let the Raptors' play speak for itself.

"I don't think anybody's going to pay much attention, they don't ever seem to, but it's OK," the second-year bench boss said.

Toronto plays its second of eight seeding games Monday afternoon against the Miami Heat.
