Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has a nerve impingement in his lower back and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

However, there's little expectation he will be ready to return to action after two weeks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Results from an MRI were expected back Tuesday after he missed Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Simmons suffered the injury in Saturday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He will now undergo daily treatment and rehab after consulting with "several" internal and external specialists, according to Charania.

It's not great news for a 76ers squad that has been struggling to find consistency of late. Philly is 4.3 points better per 100 possessions offensively with Simmons on the floor this season.
