Clippers sign Joakim Noah
The Los Angeles Clippers are signing free-agent center Joakim Noah, the team announced.
Noah's deal will be a 10-day contract to start, reports The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The veteran played 42 games for the Memphis Grizzlies last season, averaging 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in only 16.5 minutes per game.
The 35-year-old peaked with the Chicago Bulls earlier in his career, flourishing as the backbone of the team's defense and one of the NBA's best passing big men. Over a four-season span from 2010 to 2014, Noah played in two All-Star Games, was selected to three All-Defensive Teams and one All-NBA Team, and he was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2013-14 campaign.
However, injuries soon began to take a toll on the 6-foot-11 Florida product. Noah averaged just 37.3 appearances per season from 2014 to 2018, and he hasn't logged more than 20 minutes per game since 2016-17.
