Report: Bulls interested in Heat's Dragic, Jones
With change reportedly on the horizon in the Chicago Bulls' front office, the team appears interested in adding a pair of Miami Heat players.
The Bulls have been putting Heat point guard Goran Dragic and forward Derrick Jones Jr. "under the microscope" for the past month, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Both players are set to become free agents this offseason.
In addition to honing in on Adam Simon - Miami's vice president of basketball operations - as a potential front-office replacement, Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf has been focused on replicating the Heat's organizational structure and scouting their impending free agents, Cowley adds.
Dragic, 33, was enjoying a bounce-back season following an injury-riddled 2018-19 campaign, posting strong averages of 16.1 points and 5.1 assists coming off the bench in 2019-20. The 23-year-old Jones, meanwhile, averaged 8.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 24.5 minutes per game.
Chicago sat 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 22-43 record before the NBA indefinitely suspended its season on March 11.
