Serbian prospect Pokusevski declares for NBA draft
Aleksej Pokusevski, a Serbian forward who plays in Greece's second division with Olympiacos, has made himself eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft, his agent told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
The 18-year-old is projected to be a potential first-round pick. He's ranked 27th on ESPN's list of the 100 best players available for selection.
A lanky 7-footer who can stretch the floor, Pokusevski averaged 10.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and three assists in 11 games in the Greek A2 Basket League this season. He also shot 32.1% from beyond the arc on 4.8 attempts per contest.
At the 2019 FIBA Under-18 European Championship in Greece, Pokusevski averaged 10 points, 7.2 rebounds, four blocks, and 3.7 assists to help Serbia finish ninth. His 24 total rejections had him tied for first in the competition with Lithuania's Azuolas Tubelis, though Pokusevki played in just six games compared to seven for the latter.
Born on Dec. 26, 2001, Pokusevki is currently the youngest player available in the NBA draft.
