Report: Makur Maker to enter NBA draft straight from high school
Makur Maker, the 19-year-old cousin of Detroit Pistons big man Thon Maker, is entering the 2020 NBA draft, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Due to his age and the fact his original high school graduating class was supposed to be in 2019, the NBA granted permission for the 6-foot-11 center to enter the draft straight from Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.
Among college recruits, Maker is currently ranked 12th overall on the 2020 ESPN 100, including third among centers. He'd received offers from a number of notable programs, including Auburn, Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington.
However, on ESPN's "Best Available" board for the 2020 NBA draft - still tentatively scheduled for June 25 - Maker ranks 75th overall and 14th among centers.
