The Toronto Raptors and MLSE have decided to allow players to use the OVO Athletic Centre for workouts in a limited capacity starting May 11, the team announced Friday.
Toronto will open the practice facility court only for players to take part in activities that typically can't be performed at home, such as shooting drills. The rest of the building - including locker rooms, weight rooms, and medical facilities - will remain closed.
Only one player and an accompanying coach will be allowed in the building at a time. Staff members need to have gloves and a mask on at all times, while players must wear a mask except when participating in on-court drills.
The Raptors' medical staff will check for symptoms of COVID-19 and take temperature checks before personnel enter the facility.
Toronto appears to be taking even stricter measures than the league requires. It was previously reported that up to six assistant coaches would be permitted to supervise individual player sessions, while the league confirmed it'd allow up to four players to work out individually in facilities at one time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, and Portland Trail Blazers have all confirmed they will reopen their practice facilities May 8.
