Report: Bulls players ripped Boylen to new front office
As the basketball world pays attention to the inner workings of the Chicago Bulls of two decades ago with "The Last Dance," it seems the current iteration of the team isn't without rancor of its own.
Several key players "ripped" head coach Jim Boylen to the Bulls' new front office, a source told the Chicago Sun-Times' Joe Cowley.
The Bulls just completed an executive overhaul, hiring Arturas Karnisovas as vice president of basketball operations and Marc Eversley as general manager.
Boylen has coached the Bulls since early in the 2018-19 season, compiling a 39-84 record.
His tenure has had its share of turmoil. He ordered the team to practice after back-to-back games in December 2018, leading players to launch a complaint with the NBPA.
This season, star guard Zach LaVine publicly questioned Boylen for pulling him early in a game in November. The pair appeared to bury the hatchet after LaVine scored a career-high 49 points in his next outing.
It was reported last month that Boylen expects to keep his job despite the recent front-office changes. Team owners Jerry and Michael Reinsdorf - and senior advisor John Paxson - have told the coach they want him to stay, according to Cowley.
