Dudley: Lakers will keep top stars 'in a bubble' if season resumes

If the NBA season eventually resumes in a quarantined location, Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley will make sure his team's star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is kept inside the league's designated space at all times.

"Bron, AD, and all the top guys we have, we'll be wrapping them in a bubble and not letting them go anywhere," Dudley said in a video conference call Wednesday, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"You'll have that be a team rule. ... You'd want to say, 'Listen, guys, we've come too far. We're going to put our family on hold,'" the veteran added.

Despite the potentially significant ramifications a team could be faced with if a star tested positive for COVID-19, Dudley also mentioned he's been assured the league wouldn't prohibit players from exiting the quarantine location until games have concluded.

"You will be allowed to leave. Now, just because you leave, if we're going to give you that leeway, if you come back with corona, you can't play," Dudley said.

Orlando's Disney World has reportedly emerged as the league's clear front-runner as a host site to resume the season. Meanwhile, additional guidelines to help teams prepare for a return to play will apparently be provided around June 1.
